Bridging the Gap’s programs are designed to meet people where they are. We offer the basic, practical support that people who are struggling need.
Although we are a faith-based organization, we serve all people, no matter what their beliefs or background.
Feeding the Hungry
Our main program offers:
- A hot meal Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturday mornings for our guests
- Shower and laundry facilities
- Counseling and referral services
- A clothing closet
- Food distribution
On Saturdays, we run a drive-up food bank that serves approximately 100 families per week. Families receive food and other grocery necessities, from toothpaste to detergent.
Helping Hungry Kids
Our Summer Lunch program is critically important for kids who rely on free and reduced lunch at school. During 10 weeks of summer, we serve 750 meals a week to kids who might otherwise go hungry. Summer lunch also includes an enrichment program, combining food with learning and fun.
When it’s time to go back to school, Bridging the Gap helps give kids new clothes for school in our Top 2 Toe program. Serving 350 kids a year, this program provides one brand-new outfit and new shoes.
Christmas in Coweta brings holiday cheer to 1,500 kids a year with new toys for Christmas.
Bridging the Gap’s ministry programs aim to restore through Christ. We offer a weekly prayer service led by faith leaders or other community members. When people come together over a meal, they have a moment of respite – a break from their troubles. Our focus is reaching people – at its heart, our organization is a refuge for needy and hurting people.
